Waters scored an astounding six touchdowns to help Warsaw past Sarcoxie 50-14 Wednesday in the Class 2 regional round of the MSHSAA playoffs.
The Bears, making their first playoff appearance in eight years under first-year head coach Luke Rader, trailed 34-7 at halftime despite tying the game in the first quarter on an 11-yard pass from quarterback Josh Mettlach to Jordan Clayton.
The Bears, though, were outgained 465 to 181 yards by Warsaw, which scored 34 unanswered points between the first and third quarters.
Mettlach threw his second touchdown of the game in the third quarter, this time finding Austin Lynch open for a 46-yard score.
Waters, who scored on runs of 19, 39, 7, 12, 1 and 15 yards, finished with 184 to help Warsaw advance to face Lamar in the sectional playoff at 7 p.m. Monday at home.
Sarcoxie finished its season with a 3-8 record overall after advancing to the playoffs for the first time since 2002.
