Only two weeks before we open for our first exhibition for 2010; I will bring the details of that show next week.
I want to concentrate today on the wonderful art workshops that artCentral has planned for March and April, and as these have limited availability, I want to get the word out quickly! There will be four, and include oil painting, ceramics, drawing, and watercolor.
Our membership newsletter mailed last week to our 200-plus membership included a pink informational form for the first of the workshops, offered the weekend of March 4, 5 and 6. This adult watercolor class is available to both members and non-members, is led by nationally known watercolor artist Jerry Ellis, who as locals know, resides here in Carthage and is a multiple award winner over the many years of his art career. Jerry Ellis is an elected signature member of the American Watercolor Society, National Watercolor Society, Watercolor USA Honor Society, Allied Artists of America, N.Y., N.Y., Missouri Watercolor Society, and has been honored as a Master Watercolor Artist by the Transparent Watercolor Society of America, the highest of designations. He has served as director of the Transparent Watercolor Society of America, Watercolor USA Honor Society, and is a director of the Missouri Watercolor Society. His paintings are included in private, public, and corporate collections throughout the world, and can be seen locally at Cherry’s Gallery in downtown Carthage, and some giclee prints at “all things grand!” Jerry is a member of the board of directors of artCentral as “advisor” and though he rarely leads workshops, we are most fortunate to be able to offer this class in this our anniversary year.
