There was no mustard to be found, but firefighters from the Mid-County Fire Protection District in Cadmenton found more hot dogs than they’d care to remember.

Firefighters were called to a motor vehicle accident shortly before 5 p.m. Friday.

Upon arrival, they found a tractor-trailer off the road and on its side and a vehicle pulling a boat in the roadway. There were no injuries, however it was discovered that the tractor-trailer was carrying 7,123 cases of hot dogs.

The semi could not be lifted until the load had been transferred to another truck.

Firefighters assisted in transferring the load from the wrecked semi to another truck. A pumper also remained on the scene for lighting as the wrecker from Bledsoe’s righted the truck and removed it. The last unit cleared at 11:40 p.m.
