Friday was Steve Black's last day at the Carthage Post Office.
After 32 years as the custodian, Black says his days ahead will bring home chores, and many more miles on his motorcycle.
“I like everybody here,” Black said to everyone gathered in his honor Friday. “If you see me, holler.”
Born and raised in local area, Black is a 1978 Sarcoxie High School graduate. Besides big hugs from his daughter, Valerie Black-Chrismon, and his grandson, Kayle Chrismon, 7, Black received also congratulations from other retired
employees who returned for the event.
“These guys have all been fun,” Black said. “I've seen the entire force change.”
