    The community room at the Carthage Public Library will be packed with a plethora of books for the “Books are Fun” book fair July 28-29. The fair encompasses all age groups, and all genres including cookbooks and best-selling authors. Monday, the hours will be 10 a.m.-8 p.m., and Tuesday, the fair will be from 9 a.m.-6 p.m.
    Opportunities for gifts will be available too.
    Proceeds will benefit the library.
    Other Library News
    The summer reading program “Spark a Reaction” at the library is far from over.
    Every Friday, puzzles and games (including some games on the Wii) are played from 9 a.m.-noon.
    The teen and adult reading programs are ongoing.
    On July 19, Paws for Reading will feature Holly, the dog. Kids are invited to come out and read to Holly from 10 a.m.-noon.
    Tons of explosions will ensue July 25. Mad scientists will explode sandwich bags and watermelons just to name a couple of items that will suffer the results of when reading meets science. Three shows will take place at 10 a.m., 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.
    Then July 30, studies will shift to animals with the Animal Tales program at 10 a.m.
