Henry “Kess” Creech, 59, Carthage, won his battle with cancer Sunday, July 6, 2014. Kess was born Dec. 21, 1954 in Camden, South Carolina; son of Nolan Creech and Dorothy (Fail) Creech. He attended public school in North, South Carolina and was a graduate of North High School, where he played football and learned to love hot rods. At the age of 19, Kess began his career in railroading, which brought him and his family to Carthage. He was employed by Missouri and Northern Arkansas Railroad. He married the woman of his dreams, Jeanie Brown, on June 26, 1982; she survives.
Kess is also survived by his parents; Nolan and Dorothy Creech, North, South Carolina; four children; Christopher Creech, San Diego, California, Tiffany ( Brad) McDougal, Orangeburg, South Carolina, Candice (Brian) Lawson, Neosho, Missouri, and Summer (Codi) Garber, Carthage; five grandchildren, Peyton and Parker McDougal, Orangeburg, South Carolina, Kade, Kort, and Chesne Lawson, Neosho, Missouri; two brothers; Andy Creech(Jana) Bubba (Jan) Creech and one sister, Gail (Bobbie) Stroman.
Visitation will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at the Abundant Life Assembly of God Church, 700 Spencer Drive, Neosho, Missouri 64850. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at 1 p.m. also at the Abundant Life Assembly of God Church, Neosho. Pastor Ken Robinson will officiate. Interment will follow at Park Cemetery, Carthage, Missouri.
