A highly-anticipated event in the Carthage business community is slated May 6-7.
The Carthage Chamber of Commerce will host the annual Business Expo this year at the Congregation of the Mother Coredemptrix Auditorium at Grand and Highland.
More than 65 businesses will be represented, showcasing their products and services.
“It's a chance to meet people you wouldn't normally in your circles,” said Neely Myers, membership director for the chamber. “It's not just Carthage businesses in the Expo, there are many from the surrounding area and off the beaten path. Some of these businesses are run out of people's homes, and this is a chance to see and meet those people and see what's out there.”
The Business Expo will kick off Tuesday, May 6 with an after-hours from 5-7 p.m., for the business professionals of the community.
There will be food and beverages provided by Domino’s Pizza, Honey Pot Catering, Mazoo’s Liquor, Heart of America Beverage, and Glazers. To attend, just present your business card.
The public is invited from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Wednesday, May 7 to experience the Expo. Myers said this is one of the chamber's favorite events of the year.
“We absolutely look forward to it,” she said. “This event provides businesses the opportunity to connect with other businesses, and customers the chance to connect to businesses – whatever the need may be. The connections is what I'm all about.”
Besides the consumer-business benefits, the event also proves to just be a fun atmosphere. This year, there are grand prizes of an iPad, provided by Neotech Solutions, and makeover provided by Dr. Fly’s Salon. There will be food samples, hourly door prizes, goodie bags for the first 500 visitors, chair massage, beauty treatments, promotional items, and chances to shop.
Visitors will be delighted by a performance from the Dancer's Studio at 4 p.m. Wednesday.
Sponsors for this event are: Cornerstone Family Dental, Freeman Occumed, Domino’s Pizza and Honey Pot Catering.
Tickets are now available for sale both at the Chamber of Commerce, 402 S. Garrison and at Sports World, 2430 Grand. Tickets are $1 in advance or $2 at the door.
