  • A fun fundraiser for Project Graduation is back this year.
Every year, the Carthage High School graduating seniors are treated to an evening of safe, fun entertainment on graduation night. For the Class of 2014, a night of fun awaits at the Leggett & Platt Athletic Center on the campus of Missouri Southern State University. To raise funds for this night, a Donkey Basketball Game is set for April 10.
In years past, this fundraiser has been a highly praised event with friendly rivalry among students and faculty. This year, two teams of graduating seniors and two teams of R-9 faculty will face off at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, April 10 in the gymnasium of the Carthage Middle School.
Emcees for this year will be local personalities Caleb Bayless and Doug Baugh. And, an honorary “Super Duper Pooper Scooper” will be announced.
At halftime, kids 12 and under will enjoy free donkey rides. Concessions will be available, and chances to win a half-a-hog, a week trip to Florida and a Rugger 10/22 rifle.
Advance tickets to the game ($6) and raffle tickets will be sold April 7-8 at the Carthage Walmart, or may be purchased anytime at the Carthage High School, 359-7020. Tickets at the door of the event will be $8.
The next fundraiser for Project Graduation will be an adults' casino night Saturday, April 26. Transportation will be provided to the casino and back to Carthage.
