One hundred graduating seniors are honored every year across the state of Missouri.
This year, Carthage High School seniors Brandon Splitter and Alyssa Rockers have been recognized as “Honorable Mention” in the 2014 Missouri Scholars 100, a program sponsored by the Missouri Association of Secondary School Principals.
Schools across the state are invited to nominate seniors for this honor. The selection is based on the candidate's GPA and ACT or SAT score; ranked in the top 10 percent of the class; taking (or have taken) advanced level courses in mathematics, English, science and a foreign language; excellent attendance; exemplary school citizen; and be involved in a school activity.
Brandon Splitter, the son of Anthony and Kim Splitter, has a GPA of 4.13 and currently holds the third class rank. His activities include: Speech/Debate; CHS varsity tennis; FBLA, Chess Club; Math League; SkillsUSA; National History; and National Honor Society.
Alyssa Rockers, the daughter of David and Dixie Rockers, has a GPA of 4.09 and currently holds the fifth class rank. Her activities include: FFA, Math League; Link Crew; CHS swim team; National Honor Society and 4-H.
