  • Carthage and the surrounding towns need a place where they can dance and bands need a place to play. That was the opinion of three local bands when they asked the Carthage VFW  if they could use their facility.
It was approved by the Board and each band will play once a month. The following is the schedule for March, April and first of May.
On each third Saturday, “Country Boys” will play modern country.
Friday, March 28, “Curlys Country” will play upbeat country from the 70s-90s. This group will be playing on the fourth Friday of each month.
On Saturday, April 5, “Old Country” will play sweet and mellow songs from the 40s-60s. This band will be playing on the first Saturday of the month.
Coming April 19, Country Boys, on April 25 “Curly’s Country, and on May 3 “Old Country”.
All dances start at 8 p.m. and are open to the general public. Cost will be $3 singles and $5 couple.
The Carthage VFW Post Home is located at the Junctions of Hwy 96 and 171 just west of Carthage.
