If you missed them last year, they're coming back.

If you missed them last year, they're coming back.

Team Impact blew minds of all ages last year in Carthage with their amazing feats of strength. Traveling the nation with the organization based out of Dallas, Texas, these extremely strong individuals also share motivational messages to youth. Team Impact will perform nightly Friday-Sunday (Jan. 17-19) at 7 p.m. at the Carthage Middle School, 827 E. Centennial. They will perform an assembly for the students at 1:45 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 16, and the following morning at the school's Fellowship of Christian Students meeting. On top of that, Team Impact will perform at 10:45 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 19 at the First Baptist Church in Carterville.

“It was packed,” said Ginny Wallace, who was there last year. “We had to turn people away – it was crazy.”

Spectators enjoy watching performers like Mitch Hodge breaking a baseball bat with the backside of his leg, and tearing a phone book in half. From last year's event, CMS counselor Travis Bolin held onto some of the items, like the crowbar bent by a performer's teeth.

“For weeks after the assembly, I had students asking to see those things,” he said. “It was such a huge hit with our students – not only were they excited about the performances they did, but the stories they told. Half of our students haven't seen the show, but the other half might catch something they didn't last time.”

One of the main ideas behind Team Impact is the message that true strength comes from within. The speakers encourage students to make their best effort in the classroom, and surround themselves with friends who would also make good choices.
