  • The city of Carthage Recycling Center will be accepting tree limbs brought down in the recent ice storm from Carthage residents through Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014 without charge.
Contractors will be charged normal disposal fees.
Street Department will also remove tree limbs for residents that are placed behind the curb through Friday, Jan. 3, 2014.
The ice storm on Friday night and Saturday morning brought down hundreds of tree limbs and some entire trees. In many cases the limbs came down on power lines, cutting off electricity to homes and businesses.

The recycling center will be closed for Christmas Eve. Dec. 24, and Christmas Day, Dec. 25.
