  • A Carthage man was killed and three other people were hurt in a two-vehicle crash in Kansas early Saturday morning.
The Kansas State Highway Patrol said Justin Oldham, 36, was declared dead at Freeman West Hospital in Joplin after the crash, which took place at 7:45 a.m. Saturday on U.S. Highway 166, a half mile east of U.S. 69 Alternate.
A passenger in Oldham's car, Ashley Martin, 34, Carterville, along with the driver of the second car, Brandy Renee Potts, 32, and her passenger, Shelby L. Dunaway, 12, both of Pittsburg, Kan., were all injured in the crash.
The injured were taken to Freeman West Hospital in Joplin.
The patrol said Oldham was driving west on U.S. 166 when he lost control of his car and slid into the path of Potts' eastbound car, hitting it head on.
Oldham was taken to Ulmer Funeral Home in Carthage.
