  • Carthage’s Finest are participating in the Fourth Annual Bell Ringing Competition on Friday, Dec. 6, from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. at Wal-mart to support the Carthage Salvation Army.
The Fire Department has one this competition twice and the Police Department has won it once.
“During the friendly rivalry, both departments hope to raise the most money, which will help benefit many people with emergency social services such as food pantry, noon day meals, clothing, lodging, prescriptions, and much more," said Lt. Julie Trapp. “Come out and support your favorite department and help them win! Your financial support will provide individuals and families with critical basic needs and provide for a better tomorrow.
“All funds raised stay in our community and help the needy.”
