  • Mr. Claude Wheeler Fowler, 72, Independence, Mo., passed away Sunday, Nov. 3, 2013 at John Knox Village Hospice, Lee’s Summit, Mo.
    Claude entered this life on Sept. 12, 1941 in Grand Pass Township to the union of the late Harold and Bonnie Fowler. Claude was a retired employee of the Independence School District. Mr. Fowler spent the majority of his life in the Kansas City, Mo. area.
    He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; Donna Sue Tiller Fowler; and previous wife; Ethel Rose Rogers Fowler.
    Claude is survived by two daughters; Julie M. Crowder and husband Lonnie of Blue Springs, Mo., and Kimberly Ann Shockley Ash and husband Gary of Independence, Mo., two sons; Barry L. Chorum and wife Colleen and Brian A. Chorum and wife Alice, all of Carthage, Mo., eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren and one nephew, and a host of other family and friends.
    Graveside services for Mr. Fowler are at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, 2013 at Hackney Cemetery, Carthage, Missouri. Those honoring his life as pallbearers will be, Brian Chorum, Lonnie Crowder, Don Fowler, Aaron Schockley, Lonnie Crowder Jr. and Levi Chorum.
