The Carthage R-9 Board of Education is considering placing an $18 million bond issue before voters in April 2014.
Most of the money will go to build additional classrooms, but to learn more about the public’s perception of the school district and identify potential facilities projects to be considered in the future, the district has engaged the services of Market Research Associates to conduct a random telephone survey.
The firm that advises the district on bond issues, George K. Baum & Co., is paying for the survey, one of the services the bond council provides its customers, according to Carthage R-9 Superintendent Blaine Henningsen.
“Sometime during the next three weeks, you may be contacted by a representative of Market Research Associates who will identify themselves as calling on behalf of the Carthage School District,” the district said in a written release.
“The company is located in Kansas City, so the number displayed on your caller ID may have an 816 or 913 area code.”
The firm started the calls last weekend.
“The survey will take approximately 10 minutes to complete and the results will be used in the district’s strategic planning process,” the district said in a written release. “We invite you to help us in this endeavor by participating in the survey and sharing your insight, if you are called.”
People can also take the survey on the district's website, http://www.carthagetigers.org/. For more information, contact Henningsen at 359-7000, or firstname.lastname@example.org
