  • Alma Belle (Clark) Westphal, age 88, passed away Sept. 25, 2013, in Swanton, Ohio following a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

  • Alma Belle (Clark) Westphal, age 88, passed away Sept. 25, 2013, in Swanton, Ohio following a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. 
    She was born July 24, 1925 in Carthage, Mo. to the late Lester and Stacy (Meares) Clark. Alma attended Pleasant Grove School and was a 1942 graduate of Carthage High School. 
    She married John E. Westphal on Aug. 28, 1945 in Columbus, Kan, and they settled in the Toledo, Ohio area where they raised six children.
    Alma was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, sister Peggy (Clark) Cunningham, and brothers Gene Clark and Freddie Clark. 
    She is survived by daughters Karen Gronberg, Clever, Mo.; Rebecca (Allan) Hilchie, Severn, Md.; Darlene Krohn, Swanton, Ohio;  Marjorie Harbison, Snellville, Ga.; sons George Westphal and Joey (Carol) Westphal of Toledo, Oho; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Ella Clark, Sarcoxie, Mo.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
    Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, Nov. 1, 2013 at Dudman Cemetery, Sarcoxie, Missouri. Friends and family are invited to attend.
