Carthage had a strong showing in Tuesday’s Central Ozark Conference Invitational, as the boys’ swim team placed third and six swimmers medaled.
Carthage tallied 207 points, edging Nixa by six points and finishing 20 points behind Ozark. Webb City claimed the team title with 283 points.
Colton Sprenkle, William Burgin, Will Mansfield, Jeff Dawald, Morgan Holt and Jacob Smith each medaled for the Tigers.
Mansfield, Burgin, Sprenkle and Addison Burr took fourth in the 200-yard medley relay, finishing in 2:00.16.
Sprenkle finished sixth in the 200-yard freestyle in 2:05.42, Josiah Loveall finished eighth, Holt 10th and Tyler Holzwarth 12th.
Burgin claimed sixth in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:26.72, and Dawald finished eighth.
Jacob Smith’s time of 26.40 seconds earned him eighth in the 50-yard freestyle, Josh Sneed and Burr tied for 10th and Sawyer Huelat took 14th.
Mansfield took third in the 100-yard butterfly, finishing in 1:02.18, Dawald finished in 1:08.16 to take fifth and Holt followed in sixth.
Sneed’s time of 1:01.58 earned him seventh in the 100-yard freestyle, and Burr and Josh Smith took 11th and 12th, respectively, with Mason Fairliegh finishing 17th.
Sprenkle earned second place in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:45.07, and Jacob Smith took sixth with Loveall finishing eighth.
Loveall, Burr, Dawald and Holt finished fifth in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:54.12.
Josh Smith placed seventh in the 100-yard backstroke in 1:15.54.
In the 100-yard breaststroke, Burgin’s time of 1:15.69 was fifth-best, and Mansfield finished seventh with Fairliegh, Holzwarth and Huelat taking ninth, 10th and 11th, respectively.
Sprenkle, Mansfield, Loveall and Burgin combined for third in the 400-yard freestyle relay, finishing with a time of 3:56.47.
