Carthage's boys' swim team hiked its dual record to 11-4 by going 3-1 at Webb City on Monday evening. The Tigers knocked off Greenwood 137-11, beat Marshfield 111-54, and defeated Hillcrest 117-63, but fell to Webb City 107-75.
The Tigers benefited from top-three performances by Will Mansfield, William Burgin, Colton Sprenkle, Addison Burr, Josiah Loveall, Jeff Dawald and Morgan Holt.
Carthage relay teams took second and fourth, respectively, in 200-yard medley relay, with Mansfield, Burgin, Sprenkle and Burr posting a time of 2:02.19, and Loveall, Mason Fairliegh, Dawald and Jacob Smith finishing in 2:08.81.
Mansfield earned third in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:11.22, and Sawyer Huelat took eighth and Josh Smith ninth.
Sprenkle took second in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:26.47, and Holt placed fifth in 2:33.11, while Jacob Smith followed in sixth.
Loveall's time of 26.61 seconds was good for seventh in the 50-yard freestyle, and he was followed by Burr and Josh Sneed in eighth and ninth places, respectively.
Sprenkle posted a time of 1:02.12 to finish second in the 100-yard butterfly, while Dawald took sixth and Holt seventh.
Jacob Smith was the top Carthage swimmer in the 100-yard freestyle, finishing in 1:01.00 to place sixth. Sneed earned seventh, Tyler Holzwarth 11th and Fairliegh 13th.
Burgin won the 500-yard freestyle by nearly four seconds, posting a time of 5:47.69, and Loveall took fourth in 5:57.92. Mansfield finished sixth in the event.
Mansfield, Burr, Burgin and Sprenkle combined for a second-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay, posting a time of 1:45.69, with Holt, Huelat, Josh Smith and Sneed taking fifth in 1:56.62.
Dawald's time of 1:16.23 earned him fifth in the 100-yard backstroke, while Josh Smith took seventh and Huelat finished eighth.
In the 100-yard breaststroke, Fairliegh finished fourth in 1:20.99. Holzwarth finished eighth, and Burgin ninth.
Loveall, Dawald, Burr and Holt finished the 400-yard freestyle relay in 4:08.53 to claim third place, and Sneed, Holzwarth, Huelat and Jacob Smith placed fifth in 4:27.73.
Carthage will compete in the Central Ozark Conference Invitational on Tuesday.
