Linda Carole Ferguson Pigg, age 69 of Joplin, passed away at her home at 7:24 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 26, 2013.
Born Aug. 27, 1944 in Granite City, Ill., she was the daughter of the late Valeria M. Lindsay Ferguson and Ralph J. Ferguson, who survives. Linda attended schools in Granite City, Middlesboro, Ky., Benton Harbor, Flint and Jackson, Mich., and graduated from Joplin High School in 1962.
In 2006 she retired with over 20 years of service from Wal-Mart #59 in Joplin. She attended Grace Pointe Assembly of God in Carthage, Mo.
On June 1, 1962 she married Gary Lee Pigg in Joplin. He survives.
Additional survivors include a daughter, Shawna Lynn McDaniel and husband Robert of Joplin; son, Jeffrey Duane Pigg and wife Tresea of Leesville, La.; two sisters, Marla Crowder, of Magnolia, Texas, and Paula Quinn of Mount Pleasant, Mich.; one brother, Doug Ferguson of Kyle, Texas; nine grandchildren, Holly Ball and husband Kenneth of Carthage, Dustin McDaniel and wife Kassie of Frontenac, Kan., Andrew McDaniel of Joplin, Amber Pigg of Niagara Falls, N.Y., Brittany Pigg, of Lockport, N.Y., Charessa Pigg of Leesville, La.; great-grandchildren, Jackson Dodson, Tucker Dodson, Mason Ball, MacKenzie Ball, all of Carthage, Dalton McDaniel and Blayke McDaniel, both of Frontenac, Kan., Emery McDaniel of Joplin, and Annalise Rozanski of Niagara Falls; step grandsons, Aaron Lashbrook and Austin Lashbrook, both of Palmer, Ark., and Kaymen Megl of Martinsville, Ind.; step great-grandson Christian Lashbrook of Palmer, Ark.
Family will receive friends at a memorial service with a visitation following at 6 p.m. Saturday at Parker Chapel with John Pigg and Walter Crowder officiating. Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Osborne Memorial Cemetery.
