  • Imogene Talley James Woodfill, 92, Springfield, Mo., formerly of Carthage, passed away on Sept. 23, 2013 at Christian Health Care, Nixa, Mo.
    Imogene was born on March 15, 1921 in Carthage, Mo., the daughter of the late George Talley and Kathryn Taylor Talley. She was a Carthage Senior High School graduate. She married Paul James in 1941, he preceded her in death in 1989.
    She later married Loy Woodfill in 2001, he preceded her in death in 2007. Imogene was as a nurse for Dr. Foster Whitten of Carthage. She was a member of the First Methodist Church, Carthage.
    Survivors include a daughter, Karen James Holbrook, and husband, Kirby, Nixa, Mo.; two grandchildren, Lydia Goodwin, and husband, Kevin, Liberty, Mo.; Scott Holbrook and wife, Kathy, Highlandville, Mo.; four great grandchildren, Chelsea Holbrook, Hannah, Emily and Caleb Goodwin. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Hilda Whitten and a brother, Joseph “Bus” Talley.
    Memorial graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2013 in Park Cemetery, Carthage.
