  • Cynthia Louise Phipps, 58, of Carthage passed away Friday, Sept. 27, 2013. Cynthia was born Oct. 24, 1954 in Carthage. She was the daughter of John Black and LaVerne “Goodnight” Black.

  • Cynthia Louise Phipps, 58, of Carthage passed away Friday, Sept. 27, 2013.  Cynthia was born Oct. 24, 1954 in Carthage. She was the daughter of John Black and LaVerne “Goodnight” Black.  
    Cynthia was lifetime resident of Carthage.  She was a homemaker and had worked for Leggett and Platt Wire Mill for 13 years and was a professional Grandma!  Cynthia was a member of the Grand Avenue Church of God and a member of the Covenant Motorcycle Ministry. She enjoyed watching her Grandkids, working on her farm and cutting brush.  
    Cynthia was united in marriage to Darrell Phipps on May 25, 2002 in Eureka Springs, Ark.  He survives.
    Cynthia is also survived by one son, Austin Williams and wife, Mistie, of Carthage; two step-sons; William Phipps of California and Gary Bean, and wife Dianne, of Oklahoma, one Daughter; Mandy Bewley, and husband, Brian, of Bella Vista, Ark., and one step daughter, Angelique Phipps of California, one brother, Steve Black of Carthage, six sisters; Sherrye Clark of Carthage, Ramona Robinson of Lewisburg, Mo., Billie Mosley of Carthage, Pattie Abbiatti of Lockwood, Mo., Annitta Jeans of Carthage and Teresa Crenshaw of Sulphur Springs, Ark., 15 grandchildren, one great granddaughter and numerous nieces and nephews.
    Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2013 at the Ulmer Funeral Home Chapel.  Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Ulmer Funeral Home.  Burial will be in Jasper Cemetery, southeast of Carthage.  
    Contributions may be made to Voice of the Martyrs in care of the Ulmer Funeral Home. Online condolences can be sent at www.ulmerfh.com.
    Arrangements are under the direction of the Ulmer Funeral Home.
