Mike Evans, 57, passed away Sunday Oct. 6, 2013 at his home after a long battle with cancer.
Mike Evans, 57, passed away Sunday Oct. 6, 2013 at his home after a long battle with cancer. Mike was born May 18, 1956 in Carthage, Mo. to Bobby Lee Evans and Doris E. "Waddell" Evans.
Mike was a lifetime Carthage resident, graduating from Carthage High School class of 1974. He was a member of the Bible Baptist Church of Carthage.
Mike was previously a general contractor and owned and operated MEECO construction for many years, there was nothing he couldn't fix. Mike currently owned and operated Daylight Donut Shop and is known far and wide as the "Donut Man."
He was fun loving, always had a smile and enjoyed his family, friends and life to the fullest.
Mike was united in marriage to Barbara Young Feb. 17, 1978 in Carthage, Missouri, she survives.
Mike is survived by his mother Doris "Waddell" Evans of Carthage, one daughter Addison Jo Kinney of Carthage and her children Makinzey and Makaylin Kinney; one son Michael "Drew" Andrew Evans and wife Adriana of Carthage and their children Dylan, Anthony and Bianca Evans; two sisters Roberta Evans Murray and Debbie Evans both of Carthage; and four brothers Bob Evans and wife JoAnn, Bill Evans, Randy Evans and wife Stephanie and Lonnie Evans and wife Sherry all of Carthage; numerous nieces and nephews; best friend Mark Baker and wife Debby, as well as many others that he touched their lives. He was preceded in death by his father Bobby Lee Evans on May 16, 2001.
Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday Oct. 9, 2013 at the Fairview Christian Church Carthage, Missouri. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2013 at the Fairview Christian Church.
