Robert Lincoln Gregg, age 86, of Oronogo, Mo., passed away on Monday Sept. 9, 2013, at Via Christi Hospital in Pittsburg, Kan., following an illness.
Robert was born in Mindenmines, Mo., the son of the late Lincoln and Jessie Ellen (Perkins)
Gregg. He served in the United States Navy and was a veteran of World War II.
Following the war he married Thelma Williard, on March 5, 1949 in Pontiac, Mich. He worked as a structural steel foreman for J.A. Fredman Company, retiring in 1977. Following retirement he moved to Oronogo, Mo. He was a member of the Jasper Countryside Church. He was also a member of the Jasper VFW Post 6415, a Shriner and a Mason.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Thelma Gregg, Oronogo, Mo.; two sons, Leslie Gregg and wife Beverly, Sapulpa, Okla., and Steven Gregg, Oronogo, Mo.; one daughter, Gail Wright and husband Gary, Grove, Okla.; one sister, Edith Pugh, Joplin, Mo.; eight grandchildren, Kristy Graham, Carrie Osiier, Emily Gregg, Casey Holzmann, Amy Gregg, Brian Gregg, Lora Hobson, and Levi Hobson; and four great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn Adams, Celia Osiier, Kellen Osiier, and Jameson Holzmann. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Addison Gregg, William Gregg, and Merle Gregg; and one sister, Esther Gregg.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Hedge-Lewis Funeral Home. Reverend Mike Tunnell will officiate. Burial will be in Nashville Cemetery. The visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday prior to service time.
Memorial contributions may be given to Cookson Hills Children’s Home in care of the Funeral Home.
