Steven Dean “Tink” Tong, age 35, of rural Jasper, Mo., passed away Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2013.
Tink was born Feb. 19, 1978 in Marion, Ohio.
He had resided in rural Jasper since 1995, moving there from the Webb City-Oronogo area.
He was a 1995 graduate of Jasper High School.
Tink was involved in farming and raising cattle. He was employed with Jasper Stone and Tong Farms, both of Jasper, Mo.
He was a member of the College Heights Christian Church of Joplin.
Survivors include two sons, Ethan and Lucas Tong and a daughter, Emma Tong, all of the home, his parents, Steve and Chris Tong, Jasper, one sister, Helena Lilienkamp, Carthage, Mo., three nephews, Garrett, Blayne and Cooper Lilienkamp, his paternal grandmother, Patricia Ann Tong, Upper Sandusky, Ohio, his maternal grandmother, Alfreda Layne, and maternal grandfather, James Levering, both of Marion, Ohio.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 9 at the Mason-Woodard Chapel in Joplin with Jay St. Clair, and Phil Mehrens, Ministers, officiating.
Burial will follow at the Paradise Cemetery, Jasper, Mo.
The family will receive friends from 4-5 p.m. Sunday at the Mortuary. The casket will be closed at all times.
Memorial contributions are requested to the Tong Children’s Education Fund, established with Arvest Bank. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mason-Woodard Mortuary of Joplin, Mo.
