An 8-year-old girl was sworn in as governor for a day in Maryland today. Genea Harrison, a fourth-grader, won the opportunity because of her essay in a contest encouraging females to pursue public-service careers. Genea got to help swear in Maryland’s transportation secretary and energy administrator, and met with an ambassador from Taiwan.
