Katherine Elizabeth Brill went home to be with Jesus and received her eternal reward on June 8, 2013.

Katherine was born June 2, 1934 at the family home in Fidelity, Mo., to Arthur Lloyd Cupp and Reva Gale Randall Cupp. She was united in marriage to Ray Brill on March 27, 1954 at the Cupp family home in Webb City.

To this union were born two daughters, Carrie and Lana. Katherine was a beloved wife, devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister. She loved having her family together and enjoyed cooking and baking for them.

There was always a wonderful meal prepared and a recipe was seldom used. She loved needlework, and all of the grandchildren and great grandchildren have a treasure made by Grandma. She truly led the life of the woman spoken of in Proverbs 31, as she faithfully put others’ needs ahead of her own and enjoyed serving.
The gift of hospitality was hers. All felt welcome in her home and presence. She was an active member of Diamond Christian Church, where she and Ray served for many years. They delivered Meals on Wheels for several years and Katherine was always willing to provide food for any church function. They were members of the Builders Sunday School Class.

Katherine was preceded in death by her parents; Arthur and Reva Cupp. Reva passed away when Katherine was five years old, and Arthur later married Julia Rogers, who was also a special mother to Katherine. Katherine was also preceded in death by one sister, Doris Cupp; two brothers, Lloyd and Paul Cupp; son-in-law, Richard Campbell and one great grandchild.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Ray Brill of the home. Other survivors include her two daughters, Carrie Campbell; Lana Griffiths and husband, Bill; grandchildren, Kiley Kyte and her husband, Craig; Patrick Campbell and wife, Hillary; Matthew Griffiths and Katie Griffiths; great grandchildren, Camden Campbell, Campbell Kyte, Hattie Campbell and Reid Kyte.

She was also anxiously awaiting the arrival of adoptive great grandson, Samuel Richard Constantin Campbell. Additional survivors include sisters, Althea Southern and husband, Floyd of Pittsburg, Kansas and Gale Barnes of Galena, Kansas. She is also survived by numerous family and friends who referred to her as their own “Grandma Brill.”

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 11 from 6-7 PM at Knell Mortuary, Carthage. A celebration of Katherine’s life will be held on Wednesday, June 12 at 10 AM at the Diamond Christian Church.  Pastor Mike Whorlow will officiate.

Interment will be in Park Cemetery, Carthage. Memorial gifts are suggested to the Diamond Christian Church, Diamond, Mo. Online condolences may be expressed through www.knellmortuary.com.
