Friday, June 7, will be Carthage Area United Way’s 13th Annual Day of Caring.

United Way volunteers will be painting fences and cleaning the fair grounds for Jasper County 4-H, cleaning cabins and dining lodge at Girl Scout’s Camp Mintahama and painting or helping with “game day” at a park with children from Lafayette House. The agencies provide lunch for their volunteers.

“This is a fun way to involve people by volunteering their skills and help a few of our non-profit agencies each year”, said Jenny Mansfield, executive director for the Carthage Area United Way.

A special thank you to the following sponsors; Carthage Water and Electric, Mercy, Southwest Missouri Bank, UMB Bank, Hometown Bank, Schreiber Foods and D&D Sexton.
