  • Jacksene “Susie” Heese, 68, of Carthage, Mo., passed away at 2:40 a.m. June 1, 2013 at her home following a courageous, extended battle with cancer.
She was born May 26, 1945 in Rogers, Ark., to the late Wade Guyll and Delahoma (Binkley) Guyll.
Stanley and Susie Heese were united in marriage for 27 years. They were not only husband and wife, they were best friends with Susie in the lead and Stan in tow.
Due to her cancer, Susie took an early retirement from her many years as the manager of the Carthage VFW, Post 2590. She was a cosmetologist for over twenty years and was one of the co-founders of the New Image Salon in Carthage.
Susie is preceded in death by her granddaughter, Landree Heese.
She is survived by her husband, Stanley Heese; son Gene Harris (Tonya); son Kevin Harris (Missy); daughter Tammy Christopherson (David); son Andy Heese; daughter Abbie Hogg (Tighe); and daughter Amelia Young (Dwan). Grandchildren include Jordan Harris, Ashley Harris, Cade Harris, David Christopherson, Grayson Christopherson, Averi Heese, Madison Hogg, and Riley Hogg, and three great-grandchildren: Sophia Merrill, Jaedyn Adams and Cole Harris.
Additional survivors include her brothers Lonnie Guyll (Betty) and Jerry Guyll (Sue) and numerous nieces and nephews.
Although a simple thank you will never be enough, the family wishes to acknowledge the following individuals: Cheri Cantwell, Terry Aronson, Mike Paugh, Gary and Brenda Hicks, and Jerry and Muriel Carter who where a constant support system with their show of love, actions, unconditional giving attitude, and the occasional “toddy.” In addition, many thanks to those too numerous to mention here.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 5  from 6-7 p.m. at Ulmer Funeral Home, in Carthage. Memorial services will be held on Thursday, June 6, 2013 at 10 a.m. at Ulmer Funeral Home. Sonny Elder, VFW Chaplin, will officiate. Contributions can be made to the Ladies Auxillary VFW, Post 2590, District 7 care of Ulmer Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the direction of the Ulmer Funeral Home.
