Delmer R. Collins, 79, passed away on May 25, 2013 at St. Luke’s Nursing Home, Carthage.
Delmer was born May 3, 1934 in Hardy, Arkansas to Jim “James” Collins and Hazel (Robinson) Collins. He was a member of the United States Army.
Delmer owned and operated Collins Trucking for several years. Delmer enjoyed working on cars and being outdoors.
Delmer married Lily (Thompson) Collins; she preceded him on July 28, 2011.
Survivors include one son Danny Collins of Joplin, one daughter Tammy Brooks of Carthage, five grandchildren Marshall, Misty, Mandy, Laura, and Kerenza, 11 great grandchildren Whitney, Brianna, Taylor, Austin, Dante, Carlee, Landyn, Greenlee, Laythan, Tryston, and Tyson, one brother Darrell Collins of Thayer, Mo, three sisters Yvonne Dillard of Thayer, Shirley Ward, and Margie Pendarvis both of Mammoth Springs, Arkansas.
Delmer was preceded by his parents, his wife Lily, two sisters Zola May Case and Juanita Cottham, and one great grandson Zane Pennington.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at Ulmer Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at the Ulmer Funeral Home.
Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery. Contributions can be made to First Christian Church care of Ulmer Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Ulmer Funeral Home.
