In preparation for a new location in Carthage and helping more local young parents for future generations, LifeChoices is gearing up for a fundraiser.
LifeChoices is an organization that provides medical services and education to young parents. The event for the local clinic, “FUNd the Cause,” will be held 6:30 p.m. Thursday, May 16 at Fairview Christian Church, 2320 Grand Ave., Carthage. The event will feature hors d'oeuvres and dessert, and information about LifeChoices and what it will take to make the clinic a reality.
“'Fund the Cause' is the perfect opportunity for the people of Carthage, and the surrounding communities, to come and learn what services the LifeChoices clinic will provide; and it’s great chance for us to show our support and help them get their doors open,” said Jeanine Poe, Co-Chair of the Carthage Steering Committee. “This is just going to be a really fun event and we would love to see as many people there as possible.”
LifeChoices has provided the Joplin area with free and confidential services to those in need since 1989. Approximately 7,000 medical services were administered to more than 2,000 individuals last year alone. In the education focus, the organization's Connection Institute department gave more than 9,000 students across the region prevention education dealing with relationships and healthy decision making.
