The 27th Amendment
On September 25, 1789, Congress proposed 12 Amendments called the Bill of Rights to the newly written Constitution of the United States. On December 15, 1791, ten of those Amendments were ratified by the states. On May 7, 1992, the 11th of those original Amendments was finally ratified after 74,003 days and became the 27th Amendment.
