William “Bill” Henry Waggoner, 74, passed away April 15, 2013 at Freeman Hospital.
Bill was born Aug. 4, 1938 in Avilla, Mo. to Everett “Shorty” Waggoner and Velva Manley-Waggoner. He was a lifetime resident of the Carthage area. Bill worked for Walt Ruestman Construction and Ed Loyd Construction. He then owned and operated Waggoner Construction until his retirement. Bill was involved in the Carthage Little League Baseball program for over 20 years. He volunteered for the local Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts and was a Carthage High School Band Dad from 1977-1987. Bill was an avid bowler in Star Lanes men’s league for 25 years. Bill enjoyed his grandkids, especially at the ballpark, mornings at Burger King and afternoons at Boomer’s BBQ waiting on his grandson to get out of school.
Bill was married to Beverlie “Bee” L. Waggoner Aug. 6, 1960 in Avilla, Mo. She preceded him in death Oct. 20, 2010.
Bill is survived by one daughter, Bobbie L. Adams (Mark) of Carthage, two sons William “Willy”Waggoner (Jill) of Carthage, and Wes Waggoner (Greg Mullinax) of Fort Worth, Texas. Two grandchildren, Demi Renee Waggoner and Dylan “Boomer” Waggoner. Four sisters, Nadine Ray of Springfield, Marie Lee of Reeds, Arlene Smith of Carthage and Ruth Ann Cooper of Arcola, Mo. Bill is preceded by his parents and one brother Junior Waggoner. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 18, 2013 at the Ulmer Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at Ulmer Funeral Home. Burial will be at Dudman Cemetery. Online condolences can be made at www.ulmerfh.com.
