Barry Craig Pritchard, 56, Carthage, Mo., passed away Saturday, March 23, 2013, at Freeman West Hospital, Joplin, MO, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Barry was born on July 5, 1956 at Carthage, Mo., to the late Robert Carl Pritchard, Sr. and Virginia Catherine Norman Pritchard. He grew up in Carthage and worked as a manager in the automotive department at Wal-Mart. Barry liked to tinker with antique cars and he attended many car shows in the area. He had a wonderful companion, “Shug”, his pet Sheltie, that he had for many years. Prior to Barry’s passing, he had to have Shug put down, which was a difficult time for him.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Carl Pritchard, Jr., who died in October of 2012.
He is survived by one brother, Terry Pritchard of Carthage, Mo.; one sister, Cindy Kay Pritchard of Sparks, Okla.; other relatives and many friends who will miss him very much.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in care of Knell Mortuary, Carthage, Mo.
A memorial gathering will be held from 6–7 p.m. Friday, March 29, 2013 at Knell Mortuary. Private internment will be in Park Cemetery at a later date. Services are under direction of Knell Mortuary.
