  • Wilma Frances Utley, 105, Carthage, passed away Saturday, March 23, 2013 in St. Luke’s Nursing Center, Carthage. 
    Wilma Frances Largent was born Jan. 14, 1908 in Carthage, the daughter of the late John Albert Largent and Meleva Tilton Largent.  She moved to Carthage with her parents from Chicago, Ill.  Wilma was a graduate of Carthage High School, Class of 1925 and the Draughon’s Business College, Springfield, Mo.  Wilma was the office manager for C & C Ford, Carthage for over 50 years. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Carthage.
    Wilma is survived by several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by three sisters; Minnie Largent, Mildred Pickering and Lillian Cochran; five brothers, Floyd, Harrold, Wilfred, Paul and Ivan Largent.
    Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, March 27 in the Knell Mortuary chapel, Carthage.  Rev. Matthew Roberts, First Presbyterian Church, Carthage, will officiate. Interment will be in Fasken Cemetery, northeast of Carthage.  Memorial gifts are suggested to the American Cancer Society or the First Presbyterian Church, Carthage.  Online condolences may be expressed through www.knellmortuary.com. Arrangements are under the direction and personal care of Knell Mortuary, 308 W.
