  • Helen Lucile Glass, 95, lifetime resident of Carthage, passed away at 2 a.m. Saturday, March 16, 2013 at her home in Carthage, Mo.
    Helen was born on May 2, 1917 to Herbert and Florida (McDonald) Erwin in Carthage.
    She was a secretary for the Federal Government for 23 years. Helen was a member of the Kendricktown Methodist Church and attended Oakley Chapel Methodist Church in Rogers, Ark. She volunteered forMeals on Wheels well into her early 90’s and also enjoyed a game of golf.
    Helen was married to Alan H. Glass on Nov. 10, 1960 in Kansas City, Mo. He preceded her in
    death on March 24, 1994 Helen is survived by one brother Herbert Erwin and one sister Jean
    Harper both of Carthage, and several nieces and nephews.
    Helen was preceded by her husband, her parents, one brother Edgar Erwin, and two sisters
    Treva Swingle and Edith Dayringer.
    Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at Oak Hill Cemetery,
    Carthage. Online condolences maybe sent at www.ulmerfh.com.
