Ilene McFadden Wescott, 92, Carthage, Mo., passed away Sunday, March 17, 2013 at St. Luke’s Nursing Center, Carthage, Mo., following an extended illness.
Ilene was born on January 28, 1921 in Jasper County, Mo., to the late Allen Harvey McFadden and Helen Carissa Meader McFadden.
She graduated from Carthage Senior High School in 1938, and attended Joiner Business College. She worked in the Trust Office of the Johnson County Bank in Prairie Village, Kan. for 30 years. Ilene retired in 1984.
She married Ralph Wayne Wescott on Nov. 25, 1944 in Paris, Tex.. One son was born to this union. Ralph preceded her in death in October of 1989. Ilene moved to Carthage from Overland Park, Kan. in 1994.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and was past president of the women’s group and the Presbyterian Circle. Ilene loved playing Bridge with her friends.
Besides her parents and her husband, Ilene was preceded in death by a sister, Peggy Lloyd; and by a brother, Joe McFadden.
She is survived by her son, Terry Allen Wescott and his wife, Phyllis, of Carthage, Mo.; one grandson, Brock Wescott; one sister, Maxine Jensen of the State of Texas; other relatives and friends.
Services for Ilene will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 21, 2013 at Knell Mortuary with Rev. Matthew Roberts officiating. Inurnment will be in Park Cemetery under direction of Knell Mortuary, Carthage, Mo.
