Eva Jeanette “Jean” Ogden, 91, passed away Monday, March 11, 2013 at Mercy McCune-Brooks Hospital, after an extended illness.
Jean was born July 23, 1921 to the late Henry G. Wiesenthal and Libby Lela Howard Wiesenthal at Peabody, Kan. She married Clyde V. Ogden in 1939, and he preceded her in death on March 3, 1973.
Eva lived in Carthage from 1945 – 1970 when she moved to Wichita, Kan. She returned to Carthage in 2010. She was a long time member of the Faith Chapel church in Wichita.
Jean had many interests, including a deep love for horses and dogs. She was particularly attached to her beloved dog, Cricket, who now resides in a home with a loving family.
Besides her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Ella Smith.
She is survived by a step-daughter, Judie Burkholder of Lancaster, Calif.; nieces and nephews living in Kansas; special friends, Dick and Alice; other relatives and friends who will miss her very much.
Services for Jean Ogden will be 10 a.m. Thursday, March 14, 2013, graveside, at Oak Hill Cemetery, Carthage, Mo., under direction of Knell Mortuary, Carthage, Mo.
