Julie Cartwright, 48, passed away Feb. 6, 2013.
She was born Dec. 3, 1964 in Carthage, Mo. Her parents are Kathleen (Wilson) Ortiz and step-dad Ben “B.J.” Ortiz of Carthage, and dad, Bob Brinker of Carlsbad, N.M.
Julie lived in Carthage since 1988 moving from Carlsbad, N.M., where she graduated from high school, and the Roswell New Mexico school of Cosmetology. She worked for Leggett & Platt wire mill, and Fairview Greenhouse. Julie was a hair dresser at the Cut-N-Alley. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Carthage.
Julie was united in marriage to David Cartwright Aug. 18, 1989 at Mt. Moriah Church Carthage, Mo.
Julie is survived by her parents, husband three children Son Earon Gatlin of Texas, daughters Candice Cartwright of Joplin, Mo., and Kelsey Cartwright of Joplin, Mo., grandchildren Hayven, and Trinity; one brother Ron Brinker Yorktown, Va., two sisters Janice Shidler of Bella Vista, Ark., and Kathy Buerge of Carthage, Mo., one grandmother Ellen Wilson of Carthage, Mo., several aunts and uncles.
A Memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 11, 2013 at the First United Methodist Church Carthage, Mo. Online condolences may be made at www.ulmerfh.com. Arrangements are under the direction of Ulmer Funeral Home.
