Virgil Gillett, 75, passed away Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013 at his home.
Virgil was born May 8, 1937 in Howell, MI. to Adelaide “Gale” Gillett and Ervin Gillett. He was a carpenter and worked construction. Virgil owned and operated his own business. Virgil was a member of the Nazarene Church Carthage, MO. Virgil was a member of the Wycliffe Bible translators in Suriname, South America.
Virgil was united in marriage to Cora “Reed” Gillett on Sept. 12, 1958 she survives.
Virgil is survived by two sons Dan Gillett and wife, Renee and David Gillett and his wife Teresa, one daughter Danita Valenti and her husband John, six grandchildren Benjamin, Jeremiah, Nathan Gillett, Danielle and Samuel Gillett and Alexandria Richey. Three great grandchildren Olivia, Noah, and Liam. He is also survived by two brothers Melvin and Glen Gillett.
Services will be 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 4, 2013 at the Nazarene Church Carthage, Mo. Visitation will be Sunday from 3-5 p.m at the Ulmer Funeral Home. Online condolences may be sent at www.ulmerfh.com. Arrangements are under the direction of the Ulmer Funeral Home.
