  • Airplane toss to benefit Mark Twain, Pleasant Valley

  • During the Carthage High School varsity boys basketball game Saturday evening, the Bright Futures program will benefit from a paper airplane toss.

  • During the Carthage High School varsity boys basketball game Saturday evening, pieces of paper will be sold by Pleasant Valley and Mark Twain School's Bright Futures representatives in the hallway for spectators to create paper airplanes.
    Students from the two schools will receive free admission with a paying adult. There will be a special section for the students, staff and their families.
    During half-time, a contest will be held to see whose plane comes closest to a target set up at half-court.
    Proceeds of the event will go toward the Bright Futures program at both Mark Twain and Pleasant Valley schools.
    This is the second of many paper plane fundraisers at basketball games in Carthage for local schools.
    When: Saturday, Jan. 5, at half-time of the boys varsity basketball game.
    6 p.m. CHS JV game, varsity to follow.
    Where: Carthage High School, 2600 S. River St., Carthage, Mo.
