Edna Louis McBride, 88, Carthage, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012, at her home. Edna Louise Hartman was born Jan. 28, 1924 in rural Jasper County, Mo., the daughter of William E. Hartman and Mary Belle (Club) Hartman.
She attended rural elementary schools and was a 1942 graduate of Carthage High School.
She married Herman D. McBride on June 4, 1942 in Carthage. He preceded her in death on Nov. 12, 1983.
Louise was a homemaker, worked with her husband on the family farm and, for 10 years, was employed with Fox Deluxe Foods. She was a member of the Bethany Baptist Church, the Jasper County Extension Club, was a 4-H leader and was a dispatcher or the OATS bus.
She is survived by three daughters, Donna (Durwood David) Brown, Fort Leavenworth, Kan.; Lynda (David) Utter, Joplin, Mo.; and Mary Ellen Sapp, Independence, Mo.; a son, Larry (Loretta) McBride, Carthage; a brother, G.W. Hartman, Oronogo, Mo., 11 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, at Park Cemetery, Carthage.
