Emil Monroe Roberts was born on Aug. 28, 1933 to Charlie and Monta (Chappell) Roberts in Fairland, Okla. He departed this life at Sapulpa, Okla., on Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012 at the age of 79 years, three months, and 14 days.
Emil is survived by two brothers, Arnold Roberts of Sapulpa, Okla., and Larus Roberts of Atlanta, Ga. He was preceded in death by his parents Charlie and Monta Roberts, five brothers, Raymond, Eldon, Arlis, Alvin, and an infant brother, and three sisters, Dana Nell Roberts, Reva Jean Huffstetler, and LaRue Rutledge.
Emil lived at Jasper, Mo., most of his life. There he farmed, raised cattle, took care of his many cats and dogs, and met with his buddies daily at Judy’s Café.
Throughout his lifetime he had many cats and dogs, but the last years he talked of a special dog named Freddie. He loved Chicken Mary’s, and strawberry ice-cream, and cherry limeades.
He was a very kindhearted, caring, giving person. His smile and laughter that would crinkle his eyes we will always remember. We all have special memories of a very special man.
Great nephew John Roberts and Bro. Leroy Watkins will be officiating the service. Pallbearers are nephews Dean Roberts, Thomas Roberts, Harold Roberts, Mike Roberts, Kelvin Roberts, and Craig Roberts. A graveside service will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Jasper, Mo. at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012, under the direction of Add ‘Vantage Funeral Home Service of Tulsa, Okla.
