  • McBride's Antiques on the Square is expecting some special guests.
Local authors Lisa Livingston-Martin and Steve Cottrell will join Batman comic book artist Jeremy Haun (originally of Joplin) for a book signing and free autographing session from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Dec. 15.
"I've been in contact with Jeremy Haun over Facebook for the past six months, and yes, he has agreed to come here and do this for free," said Keith McBride, owner of McBride's Antiques. "I'm excited; we've been here in this business for four years now and we just wanted to give back to our supporters."
Haun says he's looking forward to his Carthage visit.
"I'm always happy to do things with the community," he said.
Livingston-Martin, a local author who recently published her second book, "Haunted Joplin," said the locals are in for a treat.
"This will be a unique combination of interests and subjects, from comics and art, to local history, the Civil War and the paranormal," she said. "Plus there is the added benefit of being able to browse and shop for antiques and more."
