Mary A. Lee, 82, passed away Dec. 7, 2012 in Carthage, Mo.
Mary was born April 29, 1930 in rural Mt. Vernon, Mo., to Reitha (Reynolds) Lee and William E. Lee. Mary Served faithfully alongside her husband in their ministry for over 40 years in the United Methodist Church. Her ministry was as vital as his even though she was not ordained in the church as he was. Mary and Kenneth were foster parents to many children. They made their home in Marshfield, Mo until 2006 when they moved to Carthage to be near family. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Carthage, active in United Methodist Women, She loved flowers, quilting, needle point, cross stitch, music, singing and was a voracious reader.
Mary was united in marriage to Kenneth Lee on Aug. 1, 1948 in Rader, MO at Eureka Methodist Church they were married for 65 years he preceded her on Nov. 6, 2012.
Mary is survived by one daughter Alice J. Arnold and husband Danny of Troy, AL, two sons James R. Lee and wife Stephanie of Carthage Mo., and David W. Lee and wife Deborah of Highlandville, Mo., eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, four brothers Howard Lee, Norman Lee, Thurman Lee, Andrew Lee, one sister Thelma Warner. Mary was preceded by her husband Kenneth Lee, her parents, one grandson Nathan Arnold one sister Kathryn Lee, and one brother Robert Lee. Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012 at the First United Methodist Church Carthage, MO. Visitation will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012 at The United Methodist Church Carthage, MO.
