Marvin Wayne Crosby, Jr., 87, Carthage, passed away Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012 in the Carthage Health and Rehab Center, Carthage, MO.
Marvin Wayne Crosby Jr., was born March 11, 1925 in Mullinville, Kan., the son of Marvin Wayne Crosby, Sr. and Viola (Gillum) Crosby.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving in the Asiatic / Pacific arena during WWII.
He married Wanda Kathleen Liggett on Feb. 16, 1947 in Columbus, Kan; she preceded him in death on Feb. 26, 2010.
Marvin was an assemblyman for the Chrysler Corporation in Fenton, Mo., retiring in 1985. He was member of the VFW Post 2590, Carthage and was instrumental in the rebuilding of a WWII Jeep and VFW, WWII Half/Trac.
Survivors include a daughter, Cheryl Crosby, Fresno, Calif.; two sons, Steven (Debbie) Crosby, Carthage and David Crosby, Los Angeles, Calif.; a sister, Dorris June Jones, Carthage; three grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Terry Crosby, two sisters and one brother.
Graveside memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7, 2012 in Park Cemetery, Carthage.
