Jenean Edna Williams Erskin, 78, passed away at her home in Carthage Nov. 25, 2012 at 11:34 p.m. after a long illness. Jenean was born Oct. 3, 1936 in Carthage to the Late Mae Edna Carroll Williams & Henry Williams.
Jenean was a lifelong Carthage resident, she was employed several years at the Carthage Press until bad health caused her retirement. She loved gospel music and was a member of and traveled with the former Gospel Outreach Singers. She attended Grace Point Assembly of God.
Jenean was united in marriage to Virgil Lee Erskin on July 18, 1954 in Carthage, Mo. he preceded her in death on July 1, 2004. God blessed Virgil and Jenean with four daughters Carla Williamson, Joplin; Glenda Aleshire and husband Russell of Carthage; Pamela Nixon and husband John of Carthage; and Twyla Henson of Joplin; two son-in-laws James Williamson and Brent Henson; 11 precious grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; one very dear sister Dolores Campbell, Carthage; and a very special niece Carolyn Smith, Carthage.
Jenean had a lot of good memories of her teenage years and throughout her life time she had several nieces and nephews who were very special to her.
Jenean was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters Inez Rowe and Theckla Williams both of Carthage, one brother Elwood Williams of Monett.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday Nov. 29, 2012 at the Ulmer Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012 at the Ulmer Funeral Home.
Burial will be at Park Cemetery. Reverend Larry Graham and Reverend Anthony Crane will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be her Grandsons James Williamson II, Johnathon Nixon, Brett Henson and nephews Tony Campbell, Jeff Smith, Rick Erskin and Jim Smith.
