Jerry D. Carpenter, 62, of Bernice, Okla., passed away Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012 at his home.
Jerry was born March 4, 1950 in Carthage, Mo., he was the son of Wallace J. Carpenter and Delila “Lasiter” Carpenter. He was born and raised in Carthage where he attended grammar school and high school. Jerry served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era. He was employed in construction. Jerry was a member of the American Legion, Charles S. Edwards Post #2590, he loved fishing and being at the lake.
Survivors include two daughters, Dawn Huff and husband Randy of Reeds, MO and Gerri Carpenter of Kansas City, MO, three sons, Jerrme Carpenter of Joplin, James Carpenter and wife Beverly of Carthage and Justin Carpenter of Carthage, four sisters, Sherry Carpenter of Carthage, Diane Carthage of Okmulgee, OK, Cindy Carpenter of Tucson, AZ and Holly Carpenter of Mountain View, Idaho, and 18 grandchildren. Jerry was preceded in death by one brother, William “Billy” Carpenter.
