Thomas C. Adams, 63, Joplin, Mo., passed away Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012 in Mercy St. John’s Medical Center, Joplin.
Thomas C. Adams was born May 9, 1949 in Watsek a, Ill., the son of Charles Luther Adams and R. Maxine (Gowin) Adams. He attended Carthage Public Schools and was a 1967 graduate of Carthage Senior High School. He received his B.A. degree in Social Studies and his teaching credentials from Missouri Valley College, Marshall, Mo., and his Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Central Missouri State, Warrensburg, Mo.. After leaving Carthage he lived in North Carolina for several years then moved to Boise, Idaho where he worked in Community Mental Health Care.
Survivors include a daughter, Lisel (Nathan) Stancil, Portland, Oregon and a son, Jason (Laura) Adams, Boise, Idaho; a sister, Nancy Adams, Carthage and his former wife, Bonita Adams Hammer, Boise, Idaho; two grandchildren, Quinn Lisel Adams and Forrest Reed Stancil.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Maxine Adams.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, November 15 at the Knell Mortuary, Carthage, Mo. Rev. Steve Wilson will officiate. Inurnment will be in Boise, Idaho.
