Adalee L. Masterson, 96, of Carthage passed away at 11:34 a.m. Monday, Oct. 29, 2012 at Freeman Hospital in Joplin.
Adalee was born Feb. 26, 1916 in Texarkana, Ark. She was the daughter of William George and Mary “Smith” George. Adalee owned and operated the Carthage Taylor Shop on the west side of the Carthage Square for several years. She was an active member at Grace Pointe Assembly of God in Carthage and a member of Morgan Heights Pep Club.
Adalee was united in marriage to Lee Everett Masterson on Sept. 17, 1932 in Kennett, Mo. He preceded her in death in 1987.
Adalee is survived by one son, Ken Masterson and wife Margaret of Webb City, Mo., two daughters, Nina Grimmett and husband Sanford of Carthage and Christina Stoots of Tulsa, Okla., one sister, Gertrude House of Kennett, Mo., eight grandchildren, Brenda Lillard Hodson, Cindy Lillard, Rodney Lillard, and Keri Masterson all of Carthage, David Lillard of Rogers, Ark., Craig Masterson of St. Peter, Mo., Bradley Stoots of Tulsa, Okla., and Marla Lewis of Kansas City, Mo., and many extended family and friends.
Services will be 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2, 2012 at Ulmer Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be 6-7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012. Burial will be in Park Cemetery.
